I really couldn't help myself with taking sequential photos to show off my honey's amazing skills. The process of redoing our kids' bathroom was completed in several blog posts and then of course a terrific sketch from ScrapbookSteals and I was off and running!
Scrappin the little things makes me feel such joy. Cutting paper, gluing my fingers together and even noticing ink on my arms brings a great deal of satisfaction to me. I love to capture fleeting family moments creatively.

A Scraplifting Challenge
Today's scrappy challenge is from the paper variety
Using a layout or sketch - scraplift to your heart's content. Let me know if you enter - I would love to see your creations (might even scraplift a few myself!!)
Amethyst #8 and April Authentique
Thanks to the incomparable Kristy Lee of ScrapbookSteals.com for this week's/month's sketch. Kinda cool when you can do one layout for two different challenges!
This is for Amethyst #8 and for Authentique's April challenge, I used "Genuine" and really hated the idea of cutting all of those hexagons, BUT, once I got going - I found myself thinking - what else can I use hexagons on??? The photo needed a bit of color to help it pop off the page which is why I chose the red matte. Some of my scrappy friends will recognize the twine and ribbons from Easter. We were all talking about using the left-over egg dye for ribbons and twine. The twine I used was just a natural jute twine and took to the dye very well. The lace ribbon is from StampinUp! and I cannot wait to use the other colors I created!
Have a scrappy/stampin kinda day!

Friends - Friends and more Friends!
I am requesting all of you prayer warriors to keep a couple of my friends in your thoughts and paryers:
1. Patricia's daughter is in the hospital and the doctors are not sure what is wrong: MRI and 1st Spinal Tap did not reveal any answers - please pray that they will continue to diagnose her daughter's ailments and find a course of action to cure her. Also pray that the rest of the family has rest and comfort in God's love that their daughter will be healed.
2. MaryJo is still facing pain and dizziness - she's been fighting this for over a year and is finally being taken off of meds but the symptoms are still there. She's a courageous Christian who has lost 70 pounds in the process of her own healing. She is still relying on prayer and could really use yours. Please pray that she will be healed 100% and that she will continue on her journey toward a very close relationship with God.
Thank you - it means a great deal to me personally if you would pray for my friends.
On to other news: One of my scrappin gal pals is applying to be on a design team - pretty darn exciting, right? RIGHT! I would really encourage you to follow her blog and help her to get that DT - she's very talented!!!
Have a wonderful Saturday and stay safe if you are in the Mid-west where there is a massively destructive storm brewing (my family is from this area and I'm a bit concerned for them as well). Take care and there's more craftiness to come!

MCM #78

The Paper Girls Challenge #5
Several of my gal pals over at The Paper Girls Challenge have stirred up a great recipe for fun. Challenge #5 asks the crafter to create a layout using:
1 Photo
2 Journaling Cards
3 Different Ribbons/Trims/Twine
4 Stamped Images
5 Non Paper Embellishments (Brads, Buttons etc...)
BONUS
6 Words in the Title
And this is what I created just this afternoon:
1 photo (with a cute addition to it) - CHECK with a wink!
2 journaling cards one with a quote from my cutie pie and one is my observation - CHECK
3 different ribbons, yellow, red polka-dot and bakery twine - CHECK
4 images stamped - bird and there is no one like you in the lower right hand corner (2) and two flowers in the upper right hand corner (2) which gives me 4 - CHECK!
5 embellies: lego brick (shhhh!!), 2 brads, 1 metal gear and 1 "clippy-thingy" CHECK!!
6 words: There Is No One Like You
March Authentique Challenge
Yes, I'm a bit late on this as it is April 6th and not March anything. Whatever! Hey - at least I have this one completed and I really like how it turned out. My girlie is being silly behind her daddy's back while we were at a botanical garden in Las Vegas back in November, 2011.
This is using only Authentique papers. I added in a bit of bakery twine, adorable buttons that totally matched the paper and my most favorite ribbon of all time - lace ribbon. I like the idea of adding dimension to my layouts which is why the yellow butterfly should look like its popping off of the page.
Here's some of the details on the banner. I inked the sides with a bright yellow, then added "stitching" with my trusty fine tipped gel pen and of course - the buttons!

A little closer, you can see the butterfly with dimensional foam and the lace trim is not glued down completely.
