Camping layouts for Pearl #3

Happy Monday Morning!

This weekend I was able to fit in a bit of scrappy time.  William was at a lock-in at the church which meant Sat. morning was a time of rest for the boy while Victoria was playing at a friend's house.  Result = about 6 hours of scrapping!!!  With a few breaks in between to chat with the neighbor, check on the boy, fix lunch, do laundry - you know - mom stuff.

This is Pearl #3:  Where did these people go?  I had a great time working on a two-pager.  I have not even attempted a 2-pgr in a long time - gotta admit - loads of fun and works really well when I have sooo many photos from vacation to work on.

In this layout, I wanted to try to use some of the memorabilia we have collected from this trip - I think it looks kind cool!

Papers used are from StampinUp!, ribbon is from StampinUp! and Webster's Pages with the letters and date circle from JillyBean Soup.

The sketch!

Another layout that I created from our vacation.  I almost never combine these colors, green/orange/red/black - but I was really satisfied with the combination.  I also used some washi tape (love it!).

And finally, for the win!  This card was entered in a drawing for a set of papers and I was randomly chosen (sweet!) - cannot wait for that prize package to show up for more card craftiness!

Well - that's it for today - have a wonderful and crafty day!

Pearl #2: Cliffs

WOW!!!  I really feel like I am on a roll now!!!

Here's my take on Pearl #2 from ScrapbookSteals.com
I used trim, letters and stick pins from Webster's Pages while the paper is Prima Marketing Sunkiss Collection "Sunshine Path"

Pearl #1: Four Corners

I am soooo happy with how this layout turned out!  I am currently working on my vacation scrapbook and Pearl #1 was perfect for our visit to Four Corners Monument.  William and Jeff were both behind the lens while we were there - This is ONE of the THREE photos of me that is not blurry (we took 1,200 photos).

Here's the sketch:

Happy Trails

Happy Friday morning!!

The past several weeks, I have not posted any of my scrapbook layouts or cards because ... um ... well... I have not had a chance to work on any. {sad face}

Today's amazing layout (yes, I do think it is amazing so read on dear friends!) is amazing for several reasons:

1st:  I FINALLY opened up that Webster's Pages Warehouse box I had ordered a while ago and was totally HOARDING.  Specifically, I was hoarding the paper, mesh, flower embellie, the stick pin (that just takes me back to my childhood when my grandfather wore stick pins and my grandmother had those in her hats) and the lace trim.

2nd:  This completes the Turquoise series of layouts over at ScrapbookSteals.com (Turquoise #10)

3rd:  This completes the Paper Girls Challenge #12 (use mesh)

4th:  This completes Use It Tuesday Challenge #36: Uncut Paper from the Webster's Pages warehouse box

and finally (actually most importantly)
it is a great layout of my boys.

Mini-Album from Use It Tuesday

This is a mini-album that I had created for Use It Tuesday:
Red/White/Blue (a July challenge)
and then we went on vacation
so keep reading as you see what I finally created!

Also - I just loved the stamps that were in here - Seriously - the bicycle - I didn't even know I had it - nor the camera stamp - sheesh!!!

We visited Four Corners Monument (it was a brief visit - if you've been there - you know what I mean!!)

Mesa Verde National Park was a great three days of tent camping - we had rain every night and since there was a no-fire ban on the entire state of Colorado - we did not have a campfire to keep warm - nor did we have s'mores (except over the camping stove - totally not.the.same).

Jersey Jim Fire Lookout Tower was a truly amazing place to spend two nights/three days.  We hiked and hiked and hiked - even the local wildlife hiked with us - elk, cows, coyote.

Next stop:  Chama, NM for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railray. We enjoyed a day long ride from Antonito, CO to Osier, CO and then Chama, NM.  Great food, great scenery and great memories.

Thinking of You

While out and about in downtown Glendale, AZ - I took the kids over to The Occasional Artist where they were doing a Make-and-Take - This is the card we created and I'm so thrilled that it was a Thinking of You card because it is so very cheerful.  Charissa, be on the lookout for this - I hope that it brings just the right bit of sunshine to your friend.

Hugs!

Crafting on Vacation

While we were in Colorado, I actually had a couple of hours between hiking and tent camping to put together two layouts.  The kids were also crafting - they did a water color painting and we ALL took over a thousand photos (that's crafting, too, right?).

Feast your eyes on the creativity!

Layout I created to celebrate Jeff's birthday

its a 2-pager!!

Watercolor that both of the kids worked on together while at Jersey Jim's Lookout Tower.

Amazingly crafty husband's photo of the Tower.

More crafty photography from the husband.

All three of my favorite crafty people working together to put together a puzzle.

Our family vacations are always so very memorable.  Jeff always asks the kids what their friends do on vacation and then the kids realize just how fortunate that they are - we have amazing experiences together.

Counting Down

There she is, my sweet girl - she's a crafty one allright!  She decided during her quiet time on Wednesday to do a bit of crafting and very quietly, she went into the crafting room and "borrowed" some papers, washi tape and other odds and ends.

Victoria wanted to create a countdown paper chain for the start of school.  I thought that this was just far too adorable!  She was busy in her room for a couple of hours and then came out with the chain looking at all of the walls in the house for a most suitable place to hang it.

Without a doubt, she's crafty, cute and all mine!  I just LOVE her!
