Studio Calico March/Take 12 March

Studio Calico's March challenge which I somewhat combined with my Take 12 Challenge.  I did take 12 photos on March 12th - but I forgot to size the photos down a bit and I did not have enough room to put all 12 photos.  This layout turned out really cute and I love how the colors all seemed to compliment the photos, ribbons, etc.

PaperGirls #4

Good morning!!  I've had great time this morning, organizing the crafting "nook", creating cards and layouts, AND taking photos of my creations.

The PaperGirls Challenge

This is from their challenge #4:

Just for fun cards

Cards ... and MORE CARDS!!!

The past couple of days, I have really been in the groove for creating cards and here are a few of them - sketches are from ScrapbookSteals.com

The first card is MCM#72 and I used Kraft cardstock with MME's Stella & Rose.  The ribbon is from StampinUp! and I made the flower with some left over scraps.
This card is using a variety of scraps as well as StampinUp! card stock (don't you just {heart} the green????)
 MCM#73
******************

MCM #74  For this card, I used Authentique's Uncommon with grey baker's twine.  Card stock is again from StampinUp!

******************
This is MCM #75 and for this card, I machine stitched around the border while placing some of the elements right up to the edge.  I really liked how this card turned out!  Stamp is from a gal pal of mine who designs for Authentique and is an overall cutie pie from NM.  Kinda cool that I used balloons on this as Albuquerque, NM is host to the largest balloon festival ever!  Anyway, I used Kraft card stock and Lime Twist.

******************

And finally MCM#76 - the challenge was to use any design but to use ribbon within the design.  I tried to do something different by threading the ribbon - I think I need to work on this technique a bit.  But overall, I'm happy with the look:

Another completely fun sketch to work with from ScrapbookSteals.com

It all started with a faucet ... DONE (Mostly)

After a long month of waiting and watching, the kids are finally able to use their bathroom again!!!  YEAH!!!!!

Amethyst #4: Eggs by Victoria

Yesterday morning, Victoria was busy looking for an egg recipe to make for breakfast.  We're on spring break and I am encouraging the kids to try different things for breakfast (since we have time and don't have to be at school by 6:30 a.m.).  She found a recipe for Toad in the Hole.  Funny thing....she really is not an egg person but that's what she wanted to make.  "Hey Mom, would you like one, too?"  YOU BET!!!

Here's how they turned out:

When you make a cute breakfast and happen to be so smiley - you will most likely find yourself in a scrapbook layout.  Like this one with a sketch from Scrapbook Steals called Amethyst #4.

Spring ATC

Artist Trading Cards that I am making for a swap with my scrappin gal pals.

I want to Ride my BICYCLE! I want to ride my BIKE!

My wonderful husband and adorable children gave me a bike for my birthday!!!

AND... these beautiful flowers.  I so love glads - when I used to work in downtown Chicago, I would walk back and forth to the train and along the way, I would occasionally purchase glads.  Aw...my honey is so sweet!

It all started with a faucet ... DONE!

The "little" project that started with needing to fix a faucet has been completed.

I am so incredibly proud of my honey - he did a great job on his first ever tiling job.

Lemonade Stand

The Little Things in my life wanted to have a lemonade stand for as long as I can remember and today was their day.  While we are not sure of the profits from this enterprise, it was most certainly fun!

PaperGirls #3

A few of my online scrappin buddies have a great blog where they issue challenges and I have to say I really like the ideas that are posted as well as the challenges.  Check them out at http://www.thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com/

Challenge #3 is to use stamps on a layout  -  well - to be totally honest - I forgot about this challenge (been working through the challenge of week before spring break!) and I did a few cards instead of a layout.  The stamps that I've used are from StampinUp! - My cutie pie sister is a demonstrator - easy and fun to use stamps are her specialty.

Showcasing My Work

I am crossing fingers and toes that I will be considered for a Design Team member for Trinity Paper Arts.  Here is a sampling of some of the layouts and cards that I have created within the past six months.  Hope that this shows off my design abilities and my style.

I enjoy creating cards for family, friends, and just about anyone else!

This is a layout using only Authentique papers.  I loved the look of Kraft paper as the background.
I have been in love with Authentique's Uncommon when I first saw it online so when I had a chance to grab some from Scrapbook Steals - I jumped on the "steal".

Working with a sketch challenge from Authentique, I found myself just staring at this photo of my daughter taken a few years ago.  The photo and paper just kept on gravitating toward each other and this is what I came up with.  Embellishments in the bottom left corner are layered on top of each other while the oval toward the top is adhered using foam to get it to pop out a bit.

For all of the scrapping that I have done for the past 12 or so years, I have never completed a layout about myself.  I fell in love with this layout and realized that I can showcase myself once in a while!

Finally, one of favorite subjects to photograph (there are three of them, the kids and my honey), is my son while he is participating in sports.  The papers, caption, embellishments all worked so easily for me on this layout.  I totally fell in love with the colors and texture on this - I even entered it in a few challenges!

Well, that's it.  I hope that this gives you a sampling of my style and work.  I wish I could invite you over to see the books and layouts that are all over the house.  Have fun looking through all of applicants and I wish all of them well.
