One more crafty item that I created this weekend:
A journal that I can keep all of my ideas in one handy place - Its also going to contain the "smash" journal tags that my honey gave me.
Scrappin the little things makes me feel such joy. Cutting paper, gluing my fingers together and even noticing ink on my arms brings a great deal of satisfaction to me. I love to capture fleeting family moments creatively.

A weekend at the Johnson house:
After getting a rather lavish grab bag from Lisa
And then making a few cards to get started on the Valentine rush:
I reorganized my little nook in the house where I do scrappin of the little things:
While the littlest little is napping near my feet:
After lunch, Dad and daughter work on her pinewood derby car for AWANA:
As the older little enjoys creating with his newest Lego set:
(Thanks Aunt Brenda!!!)
And finally, back into the crafting "nook" to create gifts for Valentine's Day. This is a pull-tab soup can that I've cut the bottom off, cleaned and then decorated.
Now I'll fill it with goodies and glue the bottom back on so that the recipient will pull the pull-tab on the top to reveal the goodies:

MCM #68
Each Monday, ScrapbookSteals.com posts a card sketch and then a scrapbook layout sketch. This is the card sketch that I'm working on for this week.
And....this is how it turned out!
Its Happened ... sigh.
Well, "it" truly happened yesterday, I have now joined the ranks of moms-with-teens. My boy turned 13 yesterday and we really did have a fun day! He goes to school on the same campus where I teach so this of course, turns into a golden opportunity for mom. His first hour teacher tweaked his ear and wished him a happy birthday - then his last hour teacher had the class sing happy birthday. All along the way there were other surprises, McD's for lunch, a Dunkin Donut on the way to school, and just loving on him all day!
We capped the night off with dinner at Babbo's before he headed out the door for Teen Book Club at the public library. Yes - he wanted to go and said he had been planning on it for some time. Love my boy! er...um... TEEN???

Take 12 on the 12th
A scrappy friend suggested that I participate in the Take 12 from Ella Publishing. OK - Cool - I love the idea of taking photos on a specific day like the 12th of the month (or really, really close to it!) and then doing a layout - without a sketch!
This is January 2012's results:
I must admit - I love this page! That's all the Scrappin of Little Things for tonight. See ya'll tomorrow.

Garnet Series
I've been toying around with the idea of creating a blog to talk about the Little Things that I find interesting and that I Scrap about. So - after much deliberation I've finally taken the risk and I'm praying that I will keep up with this blog. I belong to several different online scrapping groups and I really love them all. They ladies I'v met are inspirational and I have to say great friends.
Here's just a sampling of what I've been working on:
Here's just a sampling of what I've been working on:
This is from Scrapbook Steals Mid Weed Mojo Garnet #6 (see the sketch below). Scrappin the Little Things is sometimes difficult because there are so many wonderful patterns of paper, ribbons, embelishments, IDEAS, etc. that I find it extremely helpful to use sketches as a springboard.
One of the areas I need to work on is what do to write when Journaling. I'm not always feeling clever or creative (and I think it shows!). Anyway ... I really love Scrappin the Little Things and look forward to each day with my camera and sketch book in hand.
